In the ‘What about us?’ project, we found out that it is not always easy for young people to get their voices heard.
Young people told us that information is not always accessible or easy for them to share. We found out that student councils did not always include young people with learning difficulties. But when young people get a chance, they have great ideas for ways to make things better in schools and colleges. They told us that having a buddy can be a big help – especially when things are changing.
Young people and adults agreed that what teachers teach is important – and that how teachers teach is important. We found out that what managers think and do can make a big difference – and that schools and colleges do want to help young people.
